A Fellow Reader and I 

• Fellow Reader: What was your favorite part of the book?
• Me: My favorite part has to be the scenes were you can see Katniss falling for Peeta but she's completely unsure of herself.
• Fellow Reader: Who was your favorite character in this book?
• Me: My favorite character in this book has to be either Peeta or Cinna because Peeta is so so sweet to Katniss and he would really do anything for her and Cinna is so caring in such a quiet but powerful way.
• Fellow Reader: What do you think about the actual Hunger Games?
• Me: I think the Hunger Games is a terrible and cruel but I think that I understand why the people in the Capitol don't object. They don't fully realize that kids are dying for their entertainment. It would seem like a movie or a TV show to them.
• Fellow Reader: What do you think about Prim and Katniss' relationship?
• Me: I think it shows that Katniss truly loves her sister by taking Prim's place. Other siblings wouldn't go that far.
• Fellow Reader: Why do you think that is?
• Me: I think they've kind of accepted the fact that whoever goes will die and I think self-preservation will usually win out.
• Fellow Reader: Do you think Thresh should've let Katniss go?
• Me: Yes, I think he should have. He made the right decision. It was the same situation with Katniss eternally owing Peeta for the bread.
• Fellow Reader: Does the Capitol sound like anything in our world?
• Me: I actually think the Capitol sounds like what Hollywood will be in our future. Fashion and styles keep getting crazier and crazier. So many things are similar already. It's only a matter of time.
• Fellow Reader: What do you think of Katniss' love for the lamb stew?
• Me: I think it sounds pretty good.
• Fellow Reader: Why was Haymitch only sending Katniss gifts?
• Me: I think Haymitch thought that Katniss had more chance of surviving than Peeta and since Haymitch and Katniss are so similar, they were able to communicate without making a plan to communicate.
• Fellow Reader: Do you think Katniss should have run for the bow and arrows?
• Me: No, she would have run into a bloodbath and might not have survived.
• Fellow Reader: Do you think she should've gotten the single backpack from the Cornucopia?
• Me: Yes, she had gotten it on her way to the forest and it had proven useful although it was a close one.
• Fellow Reader: What do you think of Cato's reaction after the Careers' food supply had blown up?
• Me: I thought it was ridiculous and kind of funny.
• Fellow Reader: If Foxface hadn't eaten those berries, do you think she could've won?
• Me: I don't think so. Slyness can only go so far and she was getting very weak anyways.
• Fellow Reader: What did you think of the overall book?
• Me: It was EXTREMELY riveting. When I read it, I could not put the book down.
• Fellow Reader: What do you think about being filmed all the time for the Games.
• Me: I think I would hate it because they'd be able to see my every move, but then again, I think I would end up forgetting about it because I would be too busy trying to survive.
• Fellow Reader: Do you think you'd be able to win?
• Me: Well, I don't have any survival skills, but if I did, I sure hope so.
• Fellow Reader: Which district would you most want to live in?
• Me: District 4 because it's by the ocean. I love the ocean.
• Fellow Reader: If you were Katniss, would you choose Gale or Peeta?
• Me: Peeta because I think he would go to greater distances for you.
• Fellow Reader: What do you think of Katniss' mom's actions?
• Me: I think they were highly irresponsible, but I don't fully blame her. She had left town to marry a guy from the Seam. She must have loved him deeply. I believed she loved him more than she loved her children.
• Fellow Reader: Would you rather be able to shoot like Katniss or lift like Peeta?
• Me: Definitely shoot like Katniss. Although, being able to lift isn't so bad, in case something heavy fell on you.
• Fellow Reader: What do you think about Peeta's hidden talent of camouflaging?
• Me: I can't believe he was able to camouflage himself like that. It's unbelievable. He's a true artist.
• Fellow Reader: Why do you think Peeta joined the Careers in the beginning?
• Me: To keep track of what they were planning to do about Katniss because he must've figured out that she'd be a target due to get high training score.
• Fellow Reader: What do you think of Katniss' name?
• Me: It's very clever and it doesn't sound bad at all. Plus, it reminded her of an edible plant to keep her alive.
• Fellow Reader: What do you think about Prim's name?
• Me: I think Primrose, or Prim, is a very pretty name. I think it matches her perfectly.
• Fellow Reader: Thanks for time!
• Me: No problem!

What I think, how it inspired me, what it made me think of, would I recommend this book, etc.

(I think I just I like/love this book and that it’s amazing about 20 or so times. Oops. It’s just that amazing.)

Presidents 

Panem is ruled by a President although the system is different. It is more like a dictatorship than what we have today.

This song is perfect to describe Peeta and his situation. I think the line, “I let it fall, my heart / And as it fell you rose to claim it / It was dark and I was over / Until you kissed my lips and you saved me,” are perfect for Peeta and Katniss’ time in the cave when they were both healing and falling for each other. Lines like, “But there’s a side to you / That I never knew, never knew / All the things you’d say / They were never true, never true / And the games you play / You would always win, always win,” showed Peeta’s desperation for Katniss. He was truly in love with Katniss and everything he did was to protect Katniss in the Games.

 This video shows perfect descriptions of Katniss and Peeta’s situation. The song fits perfectly as well. 

The line of, “Remember the time you held your hand in mine / it felt like solitude / When in reality the whole world was listening demonstrates how Katniss and Peeta felt during the opening ceremony when they were holding hands.

"The reaping system is unfair, with the poor getting the worst of it" — Katniss; This is very relevant to every day life because it is how it is even now. Somehow the poor always gets the short end of the stick. This is why Occupy is occurring at this time. 

"Of course, the odds have not been very dependable of late." — Katniss; This is of course, life. Nothing in life is fair. Odds hardly ever work in your favor because there is always an outside force working against you. Odds for me have not been very dependable lately either but that’s life and a person just has to learn how to deal with it.

"I take his hand, holding on tightly, preparing for the cameras, and dreading the moment when I will finally have to let go." — Katniss; I think this quote is relevant to every person. There will always be someone that you dread to let go of, whether it be friend, family, or lover. You wish that you could hold on to that person and never let go, but eventually you will have to because life is full of changes and you never know when something will happen.
